The Perfect (Slightly Naughty) Sunday Afternoon Treat
Millionaires Shortbread
Ingredients
♥ For the shortbread:
♥ 250g plain flour
♥ 75g caster sugar
♥ 175g butter, softened ♥ For the caramel:
♥ 100g butter or margarine
♥ 100g light muscavado sugar
♥ 2 x 397g cans condensed milk ♥ For the topping:
♥ 200g galaxy chocolate, broken into pieces
Method
- Pre-heat the oven to 180'C/Gas mark 4. Lightly grease a 13 x 9inch (33x23cm) Swiss roll tin.
- To make the shortbread, mix the flour and caster sugar in a bowl. Rub in the butter until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Knead the mixture together until it forms a dough, then press into the base of the prepared tin. Prick the shortbread lightly with a fork and bake in the pre-heated oven for about 20 minutes or until firm to the touch and very lightly browned. Cool in the tin.
- To make the caramel, measure the butter, sugar and condensed milk into a pan and heat gently until the sugar has dissolved. Bring to the boil, stirring all the time, then reduce the heat and simmer very gently, stirring continuously, for about 5 minutes or until the mixture has thickened slightly. Pour over the shortbread and leave to cool.
- For the topping, heat the chocolate til smooth consistency and pour over the shortbread. Leave in the fridge to set, then cut into bars or squares.

Exciting New Prospects
A Levels are scary.
Really scary.
Don't get me wrong, I knew they were hard before I started. I knew but I didn't know.
It's still early days, I mean, I'm on my seventh week of Sixth Form now, but boy do I know it! Sixth form is turning out to be one of my most exciting, exhausting, exhilerating experiences of my life so far. Everything is new, not just to me but to everyone. Suddenly theres new friends, new choices, new routines (not to mention the daily dash-to-the-chip-shop-and-eat-as-many-of-everyone-elses routine) and plenty of new information.
Everytime I get bogged down by my work I feel myself drifting back to the same familiar daydream nowerdays...
California. Next Summer. Road trip.
I'm thinking outfits, bumping into celebrities, 'accidently' stumbling into flash parties, designer stores, convertibles, wind in my hair, Rayban Wayfarers, Hilton hotels and non-stop cocktails...
Oh, hey reality!

I catch on to trends kinda late.
Shoe boots.
I want some shoe boots.
Some suede, black, ankle length shoe boots.
I know shoe boots were in fashion a few catwalks ago, and I know I had the opportunity to buy some gorgeous Topshop ones for £12 in last seasons' sale but I have to admit to feeling like big foot in pair.
Shoe boots are large, actually no, they are more than large.
CHUNKY.
I am five foot.
PROBLEM.
I''ve always thought that chunky shoes and minimal height lead to clown feet/big foot/tripping over plant pots syndrome but this autumn I have decided to take up the burden of tripping over small garden decorations and check the trend out.
Well for $18.99 why not?
